Podiatry Surgical Solutions in Santa Monica, CA
Podiatry surgical solutions address a range of conditions affecting the feet and ankles. At SoCal Sports Podiatry, our doctors perform surgeries for issues such as Achilles tendinopathy, bunions, and tarsal tunnel syndrome, tailoring procedures to each patient’s needs. If conservative treatments are ineffective, we can evaluate your condition and recommend appropriate surgical interventions for lasting relief.
Achilles Tendinopathy / Rupture
In the event of a full rupture of the Achilles Tendon, surgical repair is required. In such instances, the surgeon sutures together the ends of the ruptured Achilles Tendon and performs any adjunctive procedures that the surgeon believes are necessary based on each patient’s individual evaluation.
Ankle Sprains
In rare cases of severe ankle sprains, the ligaments in the ankle are completely torn requiring surgical repair. In such instances, the surgeon may remove bits of torn ligament, bone and cartilage.
Bone Spurs
In instances where Bone Spurs cause irritation to surrounding tendons and ligaments surgical intervention may be required. In such instances, the surgeon excises the Bone Spur and repairs any surrounding soft tissue injuries that are a result of the Bone Spur.
Bunions
Often times, conservative treatment of Bunions is unsuccessful and surgical intervention is required. In such instances, the surgeon evaluates the Bunion radiographically and determines the most appropriate corrective procedure based on each patient’s individual evaluation.
Flat Feet / Fallen Arches
In some cases of severe flat feet, surgical intervention is required. In such cases, the surgeon evaluates the appropriate corrective procedure based on each patient’s individual evaluation.
Hammertoe
Often times, conservative treatment of Hammertoes is unsuccessful and surgical intervention is required. In such instances the surgeon evaluates each patient individually and determines the appropriate corrective procedure consisting of either excising a small piece of bone, or performing a joint implant or joint fusion procedure.
Heel Spur
In some cases, conservative treatments are not effective and surgical intervention is required. In such instances, the surgeon would release the painful contracted tissue from the heel bone.
Morton’s Neuroma
In many instances conservative treatments of Morton’s Neuroma are unsuccessful and surgical intervention is required. In such instances the surgeon removes the inflamed portion of the nerve.
Osteoarthritis of the Feet
In instances when pain from the osteoarthritis causes disability and does not respond to conservative treatments, surgical intervention is required. In such instances, the surgeon evaluates a variety of each patient’s individual factors, including location of the arthritis and impact of the disease on the joints when determining the appropriate corrective procedure.
Plantar Fasciitis
In severe cases of Plantar Fasciitis, surgical intervention is required. In such cases, the surgeon cuts a small piece of the fascia that connects to the heel bone to alleviate tension and pain.
Sesamoiditis
In cases in which the sesamoid bones are fractured, surgical intervention is required. In such instances, the surgeon removes the fractured sesamoid bones.
Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
In severe cases, surgical intervention is required. In such cases the surgeon decompresses the nerve and relieves it of any impingements that may cause compression.
Tendinitis/Tendinopathy
In cases in which the tendon is torn, surgical intervention is required. In such instances the surgeon debrides the degenerative tissue from the tendon, repairs any small tears, and performs tendon transfers if the tendon has lost its mechanical properties.
Turf Toe
In severe cases of Turf Toe, surgical intervention is required. In such instances, the surgeon repairs the injured tissue.

Testimonials
Had a great experience overall! Dr. Sheth did an amazing job with my foot and has a great sense of humor as well! Highly recommend them.
Dr. Patel was very personable and kind to my 87 year old uncle. He took time to explain what was happening with his healing process and asked if we needed anything else. I appreciate his demeanor and expertise.
This is the most promise I've seen after four other surgeries. Both Dr. Patel and Sheth are great. They are fast - turned it around in less than a week and their surgery coordinator, Matty is amazing. This foot has been an unbelievable burden and I genuinely feel excited by how this seems like it's turning out...excellent service, smart and friendly doctors.
Scheduling an appointment and filling out the online patient form was very easy. Jordan the medical assistant who also did the scheduling was very cordial and helpful. Dr. Sheth was professional and friendly and never once pushed for unnecessary procedure.
